Thanks for bringing up T-Force. I'd suggest that people reach out to them via Facebook or Twitter if they need help. They are quite helpful and friendly especially when you've had no luck with 611.

 

Although they don't really reply your message immediately (there could be a 10-20 minutes delay), they seem to be able to actually solve your problems, and unlike when calling 611, you can just leave the chat window open and do your own thing as you wait for their response.

 

Not specifically the My T-Mobile issue in my case though, to be honest. With all this fuss I decided to leave T-Mobile and port out my number. But, I didn't know my account number, and obviously I didn't really know where to look. First 611 told it was my phone number (as with most prepaid customers), but my new carrier insisted that was not the case. Tried to call 611 again but the line was busy and I didn't have all day. I figured, after seeing Amanda's reply, that I should try T-Force. And they helped me find the correct account number and I was able to finish the port-out process.

I can't imagine why an unlocked phone would not accept a US SIM. For some models of phones the bands on the European ones are quite different from the bands on the US models. (e.g. Moto G7). If you stick with genuine Apple products, this should not be a problem. But understand that some iPhones have multiple models. For instance, there are two different models of the iPhone 8. (Either will work on T-Mobile). If you go to different manufacturers it could get a little complicated.

 

The best thing might be to wait until you have the SIM in hand and activated then test it in the phone before you leave the store. I understand this may not work for you, because you need a phone now.

 

Did you have insurance on the stolen phone? That might complicate things a bit.

 

BTW, don't ask me about recovering your contacts, texts, data, etc. I'm an Android user and don't know that much about Apple phones.

Depending on the age of the device it is quite possible that the port is just worn out. unfortunately that might mean replacing the device or if there's any sort of warranty or insurance on that device having it replaced.

Since Android messages has the same file size limit it only makes sense to use that app because there is no limit on the character count. Plus it has many more features. It's also available device to device vs. Proprietary T-Mobile Advanced messaging.

 

It's unfortunate that the wording has created the confusion that we see throughout all of the forums and communities through various sources. However in the end it only works on T-Mobile to other T-Mobile devices with that proprietary functionality.

 

Until there is cross-carrier full compatibility where people can send large files without having to send a link to cloud drives of some sort or another it really is just the best option.

 

I myself feel kind of like a fool for making a deal out of the situation when there's really nothing you can do about it as a customer.

Hi,
As the title states my T-mobile app, store pages and device pages are all not working. I have tried reinstalling, using different browsers, different phones & different computers. Support has said their engineer team is currently working on this issue. Is there any ETA on this? Since my current phone is having major problems I would like to update it and was told I can do this in person at a store.

 

Considering the amount problems I am facing with the website and app I am more likely to switch service providers than upgrade to a phone while still being unable to use most features.

I did this just now.

 

It doesn't delete all your messages.

 

When I opened the Messages app again after clearing the data, it took a couple of seconds to load but they did show back up, including multimedia messages.

I'm sorry , but I completely disagree. My laptop is barely 2 years old with Windows 10. A couple of months ago it started acting funny for the site. Someone up the ladder suggested trying different browsers. In my laptop I tried Microsoft Edge. SUCCESS! I also own a computer with Windows 7. I can access the site on Google and IE. I promised to behave myself regarding the app. I believe the saying goes "different strokes for different folks".

Are you trying the site, app, or both? For right now the site just isn't working. I have two laptops and a computer. Using different browsers I can get 3 ways to access the site. If you have something for Windows 10 try the Microsoft Edge. It worked for me.

Now I hear that some At&t note 8's have gotten the update and it is Friday so we should be getting the update Sunday night into Monday morning let's hope

Hi all!

 

I haven't been able to find the answer to my specific situation, though I believe it's probably a very simple process:

 

I have an old iPhone 6s that's on its last legs, and I'm looking to get a new iPhone XR.

 

I'm currently a t-mobile prepaid customer ($30/month unlimited 5G + text) and I don't want to give up that plan anytime soon. I will be buying an UNLOCKED iphone.

 

Can I simply transfer my existing SIM card to the new phone? Or do I need to perform some sort of activation procedure?

 

I've heard conflicting information online, so I just want to get a definitive answer. Thanks so much for your help!

I will take a shot. Take your phone to a corporate T-Mobile store. They should be able to make sure the phone will work on T-Mobile, and do all the settings. In 12/17 I had purchased a brand new T-Mobile phone, and they set it up for me as I also had to purchase the smaller SIM card. Hope that helps.

If it was a software issue.  All devices with the T-Mobile firmware would suffer from it, mine included, which it doesn't!  I have Chat Settings off though because I don't see the need for people to know when I am typing or when I view their message.  I send a couple of dozen picture messages a day and hundreds of texts without any issues.
